I’ve been emailing my Senators from time to time to “help” them get off the dime. I got an email the other day from one who is setting up an issues thingy and I thought, okay, let’s do this. But the form said pick 3.
I picked “Other” and wrote in “all of the above.”
I’ve already told one of my Senators that I like them but won’t vote for them if they don’t take a muscular, public, constant stand about getting money out of politics. I told the person that I like them personally but this is non-negotiable.
If they don’t get the money out of politics and take the ethical stand of public funding for all local, state and federal offices, we’ll always have the recalcitrant Musks and other billionaires who threaten House and Senate members with well funded primaries if they balk at orders from above.
I couldn’t care less about whether I'm being soft in the head and that I’m tilting at windmills. Don’t care. Write that and I’ll block you. This MUST be done or we just go on the way we have for the last 44 years.
Most of all, we need the Democrats that the young favor. AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Eric Swallwell, Jamie Raskin, Bernie, Elizabeth Warren…so many. And we need to get the establishment Democrats to not only embrace these FDR philosophical descendants but let them lead.
If we can get the young, we stand a good chance of establishing the foundation of a two generation class that will work for the good of all and force the very, very rich and corporations to pay back all they’ve looted from our national treasury. It’s time we punch those who’ve been supremely gifted by the politicians in the mouth whenever they say they need what’s left of the middle class and working class to pay off the national debt that the GOP gave the wealthy since 1981.
It’s their turn to pick up the tab.
